"This painting of Naples Beach Florida, had been planned since the first time I visited Naples a number of years ago. The challenge was in capturing the intense brightness of this scene and the feeling of heat caused by the reflection of the hot sun off the white sand and sparkling ocean. The palette knife also worked well with the palm leaves as I slightly blurred and feathered the blade to recreate the motion of the trees caused by the stiff ocean breeze."
